This couple had gradually been updating their home and it was finally time to update their master bathroom. Their home is located in a peaceful, secluded area surround by lush trees and greenery, which we wanted to reflect in the bathroom. Problems: • The bathroom was old and dated with carpet that extended into the bathroom from the master bedroom • There was no door to the bathroom from the master bedroom • Had a large soaking tub that was never used, while the shower was cramped into a dark space in the water closet • Toilet was small and sat too low to the ground Solutions: • Updated the cabinetry with Wellborn’s Prairie door style and Maple Sienna stain to coordinate with rest of the home; added matching frames for the mirrors • Added a door to the bathroom for additional privacy • Removed tub and replaced with a large walk in shower • Added a tall cabinet where the existing shower was for extra linen storage • Provided a new comfort height, elongated toilet • Removed carpet and utilized the same tile on the floors and shower walls for a more tranquil look • Featured a vertical tile layout in the shower to emphasize the height of the space • Brought the outdoors in by using green tones throughout the bathroom. We used Costa Esmeralda granite for the countertops and shower bench seat, and a watery, dark green glass tile to accent • Integrated a pullout hamper into the vanity, and a pullout shelf in each sink cabinet for easier storage
