Description
This family was more than ready to update their master suite, and had big ideas on how to achieve the bathroom of their dreams. Problems/Needs: • Transform a dingy, cramped, and outdated bathroom to something bright and spa-like • The homeowners liked a transitional look with a gray and white color scheme and marble tile, and also liked the idea of adding an accent tile that would make a statement • Open to completely changing the layout, and willing to expand into adjacent office/guest bedroom • Tired of their small shower stall and wanted a shower large enough for two people, with a bench, two shower heads, and a rain head • Wanted to remove the jetted tub and deck and replace with a freestanding tub, but were concerned there may not be enough room Solutions: • Expanded bathroom into office/guest bedroom to create a huge shower that would also fit a freestanding tub • Put vanity on opposite side of bathroom so we could add a water closet along the other wall • Added two tall linen cabinets and a wall cabinet that sits on the countertop at the vanity for more storage; incorporated a hamper into one linen cabinet as it sits outside of the master closet • We utilized marble-look porcelain tiles to save cost, and found an accent tile that had shimmery water-like accents • The homeowner was interested in combining different patterns, so we used a herringbone layout for the shower floor, and inlaid strips of the accent tile into the main bathroom floor • Used Wellborn’s Chelsea door style for an updated transitional look with a custom gray paint to perfectly match the other gray tones in the bathroom
